I have a soft spot for PVC. It’s very wearable. No faff (unlike latex). You just slide into PVC jeans like you do regular jeans and you immediately look like a rock star. Especially when you then wear new rock boots with it.
The top is a two layer mesh top I bought about 15 years ago in Hereford.
Most of you are here because two guys with a mutual love of shiny clothes is has piqued your interest – that’s pretty obvious. But what is your fetish? We’d love to know.
Personally I’ve got black jeans in latex (left), PVC (middle) and leather (right). Each has it’s own benefits and flaws – latex is reasonably comfortable but does not breathe at all and so is totally unsuitable for this really hot weather we’re experiencing at the moment.
PVC is slightly more breathable but has the major flaw that it’s quite noisy to wear.
Leather on the other hand is very easy to wear, but doesn’t have the shine of PVC or latex.
I’m a big fan of suits, as you’ll discover if you follow the blog. Shiny formal wear has a special allure for me – and it rocks if you wear it onstage!
Here I am backstage at a gig with my covers band.
Here I am at a different, earlier gig, wearing the suit.
I think it’s important to point out that wearing PVC onstage, whilst incredibly cool looking, is hotter than Satan’s armpit! If you do decide to wear this kind of outfit onstage make sure your set isn’t too long, or that you have plenty to drink.
Also be prepared to hand wash your PVC after the gig. PVC gets rather smelly if left unwashed.
