Formal Rubber… Not everyone’s thing.

I recently chatted about my love of formal wear with someone who didn’t share my passion. I suppose it’s got to be your thing, in the same way as catsuits are some people’s thing but not so much mine.

I’ve had this suit a long time. It doesn’t fit me anymore, and I have to use bulldog clips to make it look good, but hey it’s my look… Apart from it isn’t!

Ray Cokes did it first (although he skipped the waistcoat and opted for the jacket instead) but the trousers are similar and the shirt is the same colour.

Full disclosure – I didn’t actually see this outfit before I chose mine, it’s just an amazing coincidence, but have you ever seen someone wearing an outfit that you felt the urge to copy?

Latex in the heat

If you’re a latex wearer, what’s your tolerance? We’re all every different, that’s true, but some fans of rubber can tolerate some phenomenally high temperatures and still remain dressed in full latex gear.

Me, on the other hand, I tend to wuss out once the temperature goes above about 24°C.

Over the last few days the temperature has dropped from the high twenties back to a very reasonable 21°C and as such my latex is back out of the wardrobe.

This look is my oldest outfit – it’s from late 2013 and early 2014. I bought the pieces as I could afford them and it’s a latex business suit. I don’t own the jacket, sadly, but perhaps later this year I might refresh the whole outfit.

Sadly it doesn’t really fit me anymore! I’ve lost a lot of weight.

What’s your fetish?

Most of you are here because two guys with a mutual love of shiny clothes is has piqued your interest – that’s pretty obvious. But what is your fetish? We’d love to know.

Personally I’ve got black jeans in latex (left), PVC (middle) and leather (right). Each has it’s own benefits and flaws – latex is reasonably comfortable but does not breathe at all and so is totally unsuitable for this really hot weather we’re experiencing at the moment.

PVC is slightly more breathable but has the major flaw that it’s quite noisy to wear.

Leather on the other hand is very easy to wear, but doesn’t have the shine of PVC or latex.
